Three of Bedford Wheelchair Racing athletes competing in the London Marathon mini marathon performed incredibly well. All were in the Under 17 race with Varun Bandi from Flitwick finishing a very credible third in the boys' race, repeating his third place of two years ago.
There were some very good performances at the first Chiltern Cross Country League match of the season in Oxford on Saturday 16th October. Ben Davies came third in the Senior Men's race, with Jake Richardson one place behind him, and Jamie Seddon in seventh. The Senior Men finished second in the team event.

Bedford and County Teams achieved two top-ten finishes at the National Road Relays at Sutton Park on Saturday 9th October.
The Senior Men's A team finished an excellent 6th, and the Under 15 Girls team came a brilliant 3rd. For the full results...
Well done to Matt Leach, and Josh Lunn, who finished ninth and fourteenth respectively in the London Marathon. Matt’s time was 2:15:31, and Josh’s was 2:18:06.
Congratulations to the men's masters team, who finished a close second in the Eastern Masters League Final that was held at Milton Keynes on Saturday 25th September.

Given the cancellation of this year's Southern Road Relays, the SOAR Milton Keynes road relays on Sunday 26th September were seen by many as a replacement event. There were some strong performances from Bedford and County teams.

Congratulations to Etienne Maughan who won the U17 Girls 80 M hurdles representing England at the Schools International match against Scotland, Ireland and Wales in Derby on 25th September. Etienne ran a stunning race to finish more than four tenths of a second ahead of second place in a time of 11.04 seconds – a time which ranks her 2nd in the UK this year, and 7th on the UK U17 all-time rankings. It was also a new Bedford and County Under 17 record, breaking Etienne's own mark from earlier this year.
