Bedford and County results from the second half of the European Masters Championships in Madeira:

Darren Kerr came 18^th in the M55 Shot and 6^th in the M55 Throws Pentathlon.

Roy Chambers(2nd Claim) got a 4^th in the M35 Javelin.

Tennyson James was part of the GB M65 4x400m squad that not only won gold but set a new European Record in the process. He was also 6^th in the M65 400m Final, 5^th in the M65 200m Final, and 5^th in the M65 300m Hurdles Final.

Graeme Packman came 10^th in the M70 Discus, 13^th in the M70 Shot and 15^th in the M70 Throws Pentathlon.

Chiltern League Match 1 - St Albans

St Albans Cathedral was the backdrop for the first Chiltern League match of the 2025 – 2026 Cross Country season at Verulamium Park. With the U11 Girls, U13 Girls, U15 Boys, Under 20 Men and Senior Men all winning their respective leagues.

European Masters Championships 2025

The European Masters Athletics Championships are currently taking place in Madeira with a number of Bedford & County athletes competing to bring home medals. Early results below:

Darren Kerr competed in the M55 Hammer on Friday, placing 5^th with a new club record of 48.85m. He also competed in the M55 Weight on Thursday, placing 6^th.

Younger brother Glen Kerr was also competing on Friday in the M50 Hammer, and came 3^rd with a final throw of 56.76m - moving up from 6^th to 3rd place on that last throw.

ERRA National Road Relays 2025

Bedford and County AC took on the wind and rain of Storm Amy when they travelled to the National Road Relay Champs at Sutton Park in Birmingham, with each team giving their all in a brilliantly rewarding day in the West Midlands. The most notable of results included top 10 finishes for: the Under 15 Boys A in 5^th and the Senior Women A in 10^th.

Glen goes 8th on the all time M50 Hammer rankings

Congratulations to Glen Kerr who elevated himself to 8^th on the all-time M50 rankings for the Senior 7.26K hammer with a throw of 50.23M at the Hammer Circle Reunion meeting on 27^th September in Hull.

SEAA Road Relays 2025

Many of our athletes travelled to Aldershot on Saturday 20th September to take part in the SEAA Road Relays, and produced some outstanding individual and team performances.

Glen Kerr's Renaissance

Glen Kerr continued his renaissance as a Masters athlete with a throw of 57.23m to win the M50 Hammer at the British Masters on Sunday. In 1991 as an intermediate boy, he won gold at the English Schools Championship, following it with another gold at the Schools International a week later. As a Senior Man he represented Scotland and set the current Club Record of 65.53m.

British Masters Athletics Championships 2025

Last weekend saw a very successful British Masters Athletics Championships in Derby with many of Bedford's Masters Athletes winning medals.

SEAA Inter-Counties 2025

Congratulations to the twenty Bedford & County athletes who represented Bedfordshire at the SEAA Inter Counties Championships at a very wet and windy Horspath Stadium on 13/14 September.

Mia tops the UK rankings in U15 Hammer

Mia Flynn smashed her own club U15 Hammer record for the sixth time this year and moved to the top of the UK rankings with a massive throw of 51.48m to win the SEAA Inter Counties Championship at Horspath last Sunday.

Mia who had a best last year of 44.67m, has made dramatic progress this year not only in terms of distance but also in terms of championship placings with a pair of silver medals from the England Championships and English Schools Championships together with gold from the SEAA and now the SEAA Inter-counties. A due reward for all the hard work she has done with her coach, Darren Kerr.
