The U17 Men came away with the silver medal at today's SEAA Cross Country Championships in Beckenham. The U15 boys came 19th.
Well done to everyone that ran. See full results below.
We have now completed our affiliations to Track and Field leagues for 2025 and the fixture list is taking shape.
The focus for the club this season for senior athletes will be the Southern Athletics League (SAL). This means that we get a home fixture, plus a further local match at Sandy, with the other two fixtures being at Colchester. This league also gives an opportunity to our U17 athletes, as the minimum age for this league is 15 as of 31/8/25. It has also historically proven to provide good competition for our masters athletes.
We have not affiliated to the National Athletics League this year, as in recent years we have found that the travel distances involved have meant that we have struggled to get teams out. We will, though, obviously support any of our senior athletes who wish to compete for NAL clubs as Higher Claim Athletes.
After returning from a tough warm weather training session in Tenerife, Jasmine Wilkins flew to Dublin for an indoor meet at Abbotstown, running in the 60m and 200m.
Although very tired from Tenerife Jasmine still managed a new club record in the 200m, 24.33 secs.
Not one to rest for long, Jasmine has been selected to represent England in Iceland at the Reykjavik International Games on 27th Jan.
Congratulations to Tennyson James on breaking the first club record of 2025 - 43.57 for M65 300m indoors at Lee Valley today.
Congratulations to Lois Fordham on what is probably the last record of 2024, when setting a new U15 Pole vault record of 2.81M at the Bedford Christmas Invitation Pole Vault on Sunday 22nd December.
Thanks to everyone who helped make yesterday’s 44th Annual Christmas Handicap such a success.
The race was won by Emma Coombes who, after going close to winning several times in the past, strode to a well deserved and very popular victory. Emma closed a 3 minute gap on the 3 ladies in front, passing them just a few hundred metres from the finish to win by 11 secs. The first man to finish was Matt Bray who set off 9 mins behind Emma but finished 32 secs behind in 5th place.
