Well done to everyone who ran in the SEAA road relays and U15/U17 5k championships in Milton Keynes yesterday.
 
Bedford & County had a successful day with team gold in the U17 Men 5k championships and bronze for our Senior Women A team in the 6 stage relay.
 
There were some outstanding individual performances, including Rebecca Murray as the fastest 2nd leg runner for the Senior Women, 3rd place for Mackenzie Kotrys in the U17 Men 5k and 1st place for Ethan Gibbs in the U13 boys 3k.

It was the British Masters Athletics Federation's (BMAF) Winter Throws Championships at the weekend at Horspath Track, Oxford.
 
Four of Bedford's Masters Athletes competed and came back with a hatful of medals and club records.

Congratulations to all the  Bedford & County athletes who ran in the Tokyo Marathon yesterday. 


Adam Harris, achieved the 6 star Abbot World Marathon Majors award yesterday, by completing the Tokyo Marathon in a chip time of 2hrs 56mins 46sec (gun time 2hrs 57mins 11sec). He has achieved the 6 Star award by running the required marathons in: Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York. 

Bedford & County's junior pole vault athletes were out in force at the Eastern Indoor Championships yesterday, bringing home 3 medals.
 
Oskar Eastwood - Bronze in the u15 boys with new PB of 2.70m
 
Lois Fordham - Gold in the u15 girls with a new PB of 2.90m (and club record)
 
Chloe Kingman - Bronze in u17 women with 2.60m

It was a busy day at the EMAC Indoor Champs on Sunday 9th February. 3 club records were broken. 
 
Glen Kerr broke the M50 Indoor shotput record with 10.84m, to win the bronze medal.
 
Darren Kerr equalled the M55 Indoor shotput record with 11.15m to win the gold medal.
 
Graeme Packman broke the M70 Indoor and Overall shotput record with 9.51m, this is the first club record Graeme has broken in 45 years competing for the club.

Yesterday, the final Chiltern League cross country of the season took place at Oxford. Bedford and County finished the season off in style on a very muddy course to win the overall competition, taking home the title for the first time in 7 years. 

 

We also won the team title for Senior Women and U17 Men, a title Bedford and County's Senior Women haven't won for 11 years.

The British Masters Indoor Pentathlon Championships was held last Sunday at the EIS in Sheffield.
 
Bedford & County athlete Leanne Buxton competed in the W45 category and won the National Title.
 
She achieved three W45 club records (60 Hurdles 9.51 sec; High jump 1.39m; and Long jump 5.00m) in setting a club W45 pentathlon record of 3868 points.
 
Congratulations Leanne, what an amazing start to her 2025 competitive season.
