The club's senior teams were in National Athletics League action at Chelmsford on 7th May. The women's and the men's teams both finished sixth out of eight teams, with the combined result being seventh. Chelmsford made the most of home advantage to win the match. Our home match at Bedford is on 4th June.
In the Women's team, our strongest event was the 3000m, with Lauren Nichols second in 10:11.01, and Amy Killick (U20) fourth in 10:22.52. And we had wins in the 440m Hurdles (Leanne Buxton, 68.5), the High Jump (Gracie W, 1.65), and the Pole Vault (Jemma Eastwood, 2.90).
In the Men's team, we got full points in the 800m, with Sam Winters winning the A race (1:52.40), and Alfie Yabsley winning the B race (1:54.76). We also performed strongly in the 1500m (Ben Alcock fourth in 3:56.50, and Sam Knee-Robinson seventh in 4:03.70), and the 5000m (Craig Emmerson second in 15:15.55, and M55 Andrew Leach coming ninth in 16:14.82). There were also PBs for Nathan Cox (11.17) and Aston Lockwood (11.19) in the 100m. Aston also ran a PB in the 200m (22.71), as did Daniel Harding-Forbes (U20) in the 400m (51.28).
