Bedford and County athletes have taken part in two virtual races recently: the British Milers Club 3k Virtual Time Trial, and the British Masters 5k Virtual Relays.

The British Milers Club 3k Virtual Time Trial

Jamie Webster came 82nd overall, and 13th in the Under 20 Men's category, running 9:29 on a course with an overall negative elevation near Ampthill.  A strong tailwind also helped.  Charlie Palmer came 111th overall, and 11th in the M40 category turning in a time of 9:45.  Oliver Wilson came 19th in the Under 13 boys category with a creditable 12:06.  Peter Webster wasn't quite as fast as Jamie, but had a go, finishing 27th in the M50 category in 12:35.

British Masters Virtual 5k Relays

Sadly, our best laid plans for a high place finish in the M45-54 category went awry as a key team member twanged a hamstring near the beginning of his 'leg'.  However, there were some good individual performances.  Charlie Palmer finished 57th in the M40 category with a fine 16:42, and in the M50 category, Jim Black came 113th in 19:04.
