Seven of our juniors earned the right to represent Bedfordshire in the Southern U15/U20 Inter County Championships in Oxford on 7th September, and there were some outstanding performances.

Gracie Wall cleared 1.63m to cement her place as one of the best young high jumpers in the country with victory in the U15 Girls’ event, and she also raced to a new PB of 11.81 seconds for fifth place in the 75m Hurdles final.

Etienne Maughan ran a scorching 25.06 to place second in the the Under 15 Girls’ 200m, and also leapt to third in the Long Jump, with 5.11m.

Daniel Harding-Forbes broke the 38 second barrier for the first time to win his heat of the U15 Boys’ 300m, and then followed that up with an excellent third place in the final. Daniel’s times of in 37.94s and 37.98s were both over half a second faster than he has run before, which is not bad for one day’s work!

In the women’s 1500m, our sole Under 20 representative, Tia Wilson, had an excellent run, slicing over four seconds off her PB in claiming the runner-up’s spot, with 4:35.06.

Sadie Werrett, representing Cambridgeshire, threw 31.08 to finish fifth in the Under 15 girls' Javelin, Chloe Howe ran 13.28 seconds in the Under 15 Girls’ 100m, Ruby Green ran 44.23 seconds in the Under 15 Girls’ 300m, and Natalie Simmons earned a new PB of 4:53.79 for seventh in the under 15 Girls’ 1500m.
