Oliver Weddell was the star of the Bedfordshire show at the English Schools Cross Country Championships held in bright but cold windy conditions at Liverpool’s Sefton Park on Saturday 14^th March.

Having decisively won the County Championships at Ampthill a month earlier, Ollie stepped up on the big stage to finish 10^th in a very competitive Inter Boys 4.5Km race. His exceptional performance earned him an English Schools vest for the Home Countries International taking place in Bangor following week.

The other outstanding performance of the day came from Theo Beale who came 27^th in the Senior Boys 6km race.

All races were highly competitive with average fields of 335 runners. Seven other members of the team did well to finish in the top half of their respective races: Serena Fadda- Archibald 159^th Inter Girls; Ellie Harper 110^th Senior Girls; Thomas Harper 165^th Junior Boys; Fraser Williams 114^th Inter Boys; Jacob Schurict 139^th Senior Boys; Archie Henderson 144^th Senior Boys; and Dylan Stokes 153^rd Senior Boys.
