It was good to see so many BCAC athletes making the very long trip north to Sedgefield, County Durham, for the National Cross Country Championships last weekend (21st February).
Best team performance of the day was in the senior men’s race, where we had 10 athletes on the start line, with the team finishing a very creditable 6th (2nd southern club), led home by Ben Alcock’s fine 13th place, a commendable effort, coming as it did just 6 days after running a half marathon pb.
The U17 men also closed a scoring team, finishing an excellent 10th, with Oliver Weddell finishing 17th - a hugely creditable performance, especially as he is in the bottom year of this two-year age group.
Amongst many other excellent club performances was a fine run by Ethan Gibbs for 14th place in the U15 Boys race.
