Varun Bandi, aged 17, has recently been awarded the Bedford Sports Award in the Junior Disabled Sportsperson of the Year category. This is the second time has has won this award, the previous occasion was in 2019. However, he has recently been involved in an accident when delivering news papers. On an icy morning his wheelchair slipped and he crashed into a van, fracturing a bone in his leg! Fortunately it will probably only involve a three week rest from racing and so we hope to see him back again in February!
