The men's team won the Eastern Masters league match at Bedford on 28th July.
The men's masters team finished with 115 points, 16 points ahead of their nearest rivals, Milton Keynes. Highlights included a 1-2 in the 2km walk by Adam Hills and John Borgars, whilst Gavin Fordham managed to win the M35 shot, discus and long jump. With only the 1st September league match remaining, the men's team are currently top of the table with 324 points, 31 points ahead of arch-rivals Marshall Milton Keynes, and Bedford look a good bet to make the final on 26th September.
The women's team was a little too short of personnel to make an impression on the table, but there were some good individual performances from Penny Butcher (wins in the 100m and the long jump), and Oriana Johnson (wins in the shot and discus), amongst others.
Full results should appear on the Power of Ten shortly. In the meantime, get well soon to the erstwhile men's team manager, Jim Keech, who is currently recovery from a nasty injury.
