At the BFTA on 12th September, Under 17 Etienne Maughan ran a fast 200m, finishing second in her race in 24.71 – this moves Etienne into this year’s UK top ten for her age group.  Her fellow Under 17, Serena Van Beek came third in her 200m race in 28.23.

 

At the same event, Jamie Webster sharpened up for an 800m later this week with a 52.76 clocking over 400m.

Bedford and County athletes were also in action at the Harrow 3000m race night on 10th September.  Alfie Yabsley finished second in race one, with a time of 8:23.04, whilst Matt Bray was close behind in third with 8:23.76.  Further back in the same race, under 17 Alex Alston ran a fast 8:42.67.  Paul Mizon won race 2 in 8:36.19, with Under 20 Harry Brodie finishing sixth in the same race in 8:43.66, and Craig Emmerson won race 7 in 9:04.74.  All the Bedford and County athletes set PBs.

Meanwhile, Gracie Wall currently tops the UK under 15 high jump rankings, with a jump of 1.71m, set at the  BIGish Jumps festival on 22nd August.
