Congratulations to four Bedford and County athletes who won awards at the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire County Championships on 13th and 14th May.  They were:

• Riley Johnson (winner of SM 100m) - the 100 yd Silver Cup
• Aston Lockwood (winner of SM 200m)  - the 200 yd Silver Cup
• Eleanor Smith (winner of U15 Girls 800m) - The Hickson Trophy
• Etienne Maughan (winner of the SW 100m Hurdles with a Championship Best performance) - the Custom Enclosure Shield.

127 Bedford and County athletes registered for the main meeting, and 35 for the 1500m (run on a different day).

As part of the club’s recognition of Alex and Rosemary’s success and contribution to athlete development upon their retirement, it has been decided to award a bursary of £100 for the next 5 years starting in May 2023.

We are pleased to announce that Eleanor Smith is the first recipient of the bursary. 

Congratulations to Lyla Danobrega, who broke her own club Under 17 and Senior Women's 1500m Steeplechase record on Saturday 29th April at the West Suffolk Steeplechase Festival with a time of 5:21.00.

Congratulations to Glen Kerr, who set a new M45 Hammer Club Record of 51.44 Metres at Milton Keynes on 15th April.  This beats Glen's own mark from last year.

Congratulations to John Eves, who set a new club M40 road best for 20 miles at the Hillingdon 20 on Sunday 26th March 2023.  His time of 1:50:09 beat the previous record of 1:55 held by Pete Dancer.
