Bedford & County Athletics Club celebrated their Annual Awards Evening on 21 November 2025. The celebration honoured retrospective winners from 2019-2023, who missed out on receiving their awards due to Covid, as well as 2025 winners. The event took place at the Bedford International Athletics Stadium with the awards being presented by Ryan Apps Great Britain Rugby 7s Player who was also a Bedford & County member.
Highlights for the 2019-2023 awards included 27 retrospective award-winning individual athletes, of whom 14 had won national titles or medals and/or international vests. A standout winner was Etienne Maughan, winning seven awards on the night, including the 2025 senior female award.
Seven of the seventeen 2025 award winners won National medals and/or International vests including wheel chair racer Sean Chigumba (England International); Mia Flynn ranked 2nd in UK U15 hammer with a prodigious distance of 51.48 metres; Lois Fordham ranked 3rd in UK U15 pole vault with a height of 3.20 metres; and Tennyson James who won a relay gold medal at the European Masters Championships.
Thaila-Jade Mason was presented with the Bedford Sports Junior Personality of the Year2024 trophy for her achievements during that year; whilst Allen Adamson received a Special Award from the English Schools Athletics Association in respect of his fifty years devoted service to schools athletics both in the County and Nationally.
