Jasmine Wilkins, having been selected to run for GB, made her debut in Mannheim, Germany , competing in the individual 100m and the 4 x 100m relay.
In the 100m Jasmine finished 2nd in her race with a time of 11.60 secs.
In the relay she ran the 1st leg in what was, for the team, the fastest run of the year. The girls time of 44.1 ranks them in the top three U20 teams in the world this year.
Jasmine was busy again on the 29th June , running in the National Champs in Manchester, running an excellent time of 11.56 in her first round in winning her heat, and then 11.62 in her semifinal, finishing 4th.
Being injury free and healthy since around Christmas time, and hence being able to train 5 times a week, has made a big difference to Jas, something she has not been able to do for a couple of years. I am sure she would like to extend thanks to the physio staff at Birmingham Uni for helping her in being able to do this, after Mark Buckingham diagnosed and treated the original problems successfully.
Hope to see Jasmine running in Bedford soon , hopefully at NAL July 7th,
Well done Jasmine
