There were some excellent results for Bedford and County athletes in the Bedfordshire AAA Virtual 10 K race that was held between 13th and 19th July.
Rebecca Murray won the ladies race in 37:41 and was fourth fastest overall, whilst Sue Bosher was second in the ladies race and the faster F35 in 39:52. Penelope Francis was the fastest Under 20 Woman in 55:47. Emma Coombes completed the course in 52:41, Maddie Brodie ran 54:50, and Claire Perusko (47:08) was the fastest F50.
Ed Blythman won the men’s race comfortably in 32:21, whilst Ewan Wilson was both the fastest M45 and the second man overall in 36:08. Jim Black was the fastest M50, in 39:26, Sean Lang ran 46:34, and Andy Blair’s 38:52 made him the fastest M55. Paul Woodroffe turned in a 50:24, and Bob Thompson ran 58:30 to come second in the M70 category. The race complied with social distancing regulations. The competitors ran the usual Bedfordshire AAA 10K course at a time of their choosing, recording their results on their GPS watches.
