Southern Athletics League - Match 1 - Bedford, 13th April 2019
Frankie Johnson's jump of 5.15m was not just a club record and SAL League record but also the European u20 qualifying standard!

The day saw plenty of A and B string wins, in addition to a number of returns and promising results.
We dominated the 800m and 1500m, finishing first and second in both. Jamie Webster and Aiden Killeen taking the A string wins, closely followed by Joe Strange and Ed Blythman (in a new PB of 4:20).
Richard Martin won the Hammer with a throw of 55.44m
Jamie Webster Albert Mikajo, Tom Powell and Joe Strange won the 4x400m by a considerable margin (03:42.93).
The high jump saw Scott Johnson take the A string win with 1.85m, Dan Steel (the ironman of the match, competing in 7 events) took the B string with 1.60m. Dan also won the B string long and triple Jump.
Other B string winners were: Javier Ferrer Ferrando in the pole vault (3.90m), Pete Benedickter in 400mh (62:80 sec), Tom Powell in the 110mh, Richard Martin in the discus (28. 25m) and Joe Strange in the 400m (53:49 sec)
Note we were the only team not to get full officials points - and we were the home team. If you or anyone you know is able to provide some officiating assistance in future matches it will be greatly appreciated, and does make a difference to the overall match score.
Overall we’ve had a good start to the season, which we can definitely build on!
